Cancer requires specialised support services. We know we cannot be everywhere and everything to everyone. So, we put together this short list of other local and national services you may seek help from in your particular Cancer journey.
Foundation Ministries is based in Co.Armagh Northern Ireland, we offer accessible and comprehensive Biblical counselling to those on a journey of restoration, healing and wholeness in Christ. Established in 1979, we are a interdenominational ministry of counselling, evangelism and training. Managed by a committee made up of born-again Christians from various denominations. We are a Registered charity supported solely by donations to the work.
Links Counselling Service is a charity that exists to make counselling accessible to everyone within the community.
We offer professional counselling for children, young people, adults and couples to ensure that no one journeys alone.
This is the youth branch of the charity that seeks to take young people from ages 12-24, presenting them with a decision, providing them discipleship and helping equip them to declare the goodness of the gospel. In doing so, we provide a safe place for our young people to learn, grow, cultivate life skills, whilst instilling hope and purpose in an often hopeless and purposeless world.
At Macmillan, we won’t rest, and we won’t settle for anything other than the best possible support for people with cancer. We do whatever it takes. What we do? We give people with cancer everything we’ve got. We offer emotional, physical and financial support from the moment you’re diagnosed. Who we are? We are millions of people affected by cancer, supporters, professionals, volunteers, and campaigners. We all have one thing in common – our care and support for people living with cancer.
NHS Help. – Your cancer pathway will usually start from a referral from your GP. If your GP feels you need specialist assessment or investigations, for example, x-rays, special blood tests or biopsies, they will refer you to hospital to be seen by an appropriate Consultant. The consultant will diagnose your cancer, which is managed within specific tumour sites, for example, breast, upper GI, head and neck. A management plan is drawn up for each patient. Our team of experts in the field of cancer will look after you from the diagnosis stage to your treatment and after treatment.
Familycare-In-Cancer is an inter-denominational Christian ministry which commenced in August 1998 in response to calls for help from families facing the trauma of cancer throughout Northern Ireland.
